Pei Thermal Zone System

  Temperature Equilibrium Hypothesis

The body always compensate to achieved and maintained equilibrium (98.6 degree).

If you are not lowering then you are raising the body's temperature.

It is a matter of degree.

Temperature Chaos Hypothesis

When the body's temperature fluctuated out of optimal range 98.6 (+/- .5) degree.

The body is in temperature chaos state.

The body is either in hypo-chaos (below 98.1 degree) or hyper-chaos (above 99.1 degree).

Temperature Differential Hypothesis

Increase in skin's temperature differential from body's equilibrium mean increase in sensitivity to opposite temperature.

                                               Rob and Bob

Rob and Bob are twins living in Santa Cruz, Ca. Rob is a fire fighter and Bob is professional surfer. No one can distinguish them two when they were growing up. They dress, cut hair, and act identically. They fool all their teachers, friends, and families until when they finally graduated from high school.  They both had different career.

Now everyone can tell who is Rob and who is Bob.

In the winter time Rob and Bob still wear coat to stay warm. In that sense they dress alike until summer come around the Rob and Bob is totally opposite from each other. Bob stay cool by wearing just a swim trunk and nothing else.  Bob thinks that the less he has on, the cooler he will feel even thought he is being bake like a bacon in the scorching summer heat. Bob is not bright enough to know about hyperthermia. Direct heat on the skin evaporate moisture on the skin drying and causing hyperthemia.

Rob in the other hand wear a thick coat in the summer heat.  Everyone think he is crazy but Rob know better because he is a fire fighter he understands what is hyperthemia. Rob thinks that indirect heat is always cooler than direct heat on the skin.  Rob understand that wearing a coat in the winter keep the extreme cold out preventing hypothemia but in the summer, a coat is an insulator design to keep the extreme heat out preventing hyperthemia.

Bob wear coat only in the winter and Rob wear coat year round.
